Germany, Federal Republic. A 1939 Iron Cross I Class, 1957 Version Newly Listed scattered surface wear on the(Eisernes Kreuz I. Klasse 1939). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1939 1945 issue; post 1957 reissue). Constructed of iron and neusilber, consisting of a Cross Patte with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed neusilber frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six oclock arm with a reinstitution date of 1939, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44. 08 mm (w) x 44. 45
