I think they are just fantastically beautiful objects that I would hang like artworks

which the harness maker would press with their foot to clamp the jaws of the vise onto the piece of leather

though have not found another like it

and also how much it feels so much of a certain moment in time and consciousness

Ive been finding especially lovely ones of the English Coast, as is this one. Early 20th century I believe and rendered in soft grays and browns, with loose wash for the sky and a subtle hint perhaps of blue sky emerging through clouds. To
