The Enemies of the Rose by Frederick Theobold for The National Rose Society circa 1925-1930 earl thollader - Black and white illustrations{HISTORY} Not every antique book comes with a pretty piece of paper ephemera from the era in which it was published, but this 1925 edition of The Enemies of the Rose includes one such delight from horticultural history. Paper clipped on the inside cover is a receipt for membership to the National Rose Society in London for the year 1930. The receipt is made out to Jackson & Perkins Co., a New York based rose grower first founded in 1872, and who went
