but sound and stable and pretty charming I think
I have no idea if the linen is old or was hand-dyed and cut up two weeks ago
Impressionistic Small Painting of Woman Sewing with Pot of Flowers old wooden doorstop this drawing makes me thinkA very tender, almost reverent little painting I think, oil on hardboard, of what I take for a woman sewing or mending, and who, dressed all in black, seems quite likely in a state of mourning. I especially love the handling of the potted flowers to her left, looking to me perhaps like a flurry of pale poppies, and the very subtle halo of lighter brown around her. Quiet and lovely. 5 7 8" x 3 15 16" and in very good condition. Signed at lower left but
