Lovely Older Isleta Pueblo Pottery Friendship Basket signed spencerian drawing 8 3/4" x 6 4/8"I have a particular love for the graphic patterns rendered in black and rust against cream body on Isleta pueblo pottery, with these patterns also carrying symbolic meanings relating to nature, cycles of life, infinity, etc. Boldly hand painted all the way around, and with a tall twisted clay handle, this "friendship" basket is a lovely example of a earlier piece created for the tourist market c. 1920s 30s or so, I believe.
