but I liked its almost sangiovese-like floral quality

The 2014 Masseto has taken quite a bit of time to start to emerge

while the core of steeped cherry and plum fruit waits in reserve

A slightly riper and more complex nose presents notes of red currant, floral, spice and notably earthy aromas. The energetic, punchy and welldelineated flavors culminate in a lightly mineral inflected, delicious and well balanced finale. This moderately firm effort should be drinkable after only 6 to 8 years if desired. (89 92) 2024+
