I've found a few others sets of stand-up animals and circus performers dating to the early 20th century

but these would also just be great displayed among other little carvings or curiosities

with not a chip or crack or flaw that I can see

Irene Hennelly's 1908 Leaf Ornament Watercolor fertility goddess and distant shoreI just think this is lovely and fairly unusual as far as antique ornament studies go in being monochromatic (aptly) and I think quite elegant in its relative subtlety; I'd hang it right over a gathering of matte green Arts and Crafts pottery and call it a day! 13 1 2" x 10", watercolor and ink of watercolor paper. Very good condition, with minor edge wear. The date. is stamped in pink at lower right.
