with a little softening to the points of the corners

Watercolor of Eagle with Arrows and Flower Chinese dragon It measures 8 1/2" tallI'm finding myself drawn to American eagles in all sorts of incarnations of late with a certain sense of urgency at least in good part for fear of their extinction! I find this naive eagle watercolor in shades of peach especially winning, with arrows tipped in what look like hearts held in one talon, and what looks like a tulip on stem in the other. 19th century, probably Pennsylvania. Framed, as found, mounted to a black mat: 10 3 4 x 8 5 8 ; 5 x 4 1
