with ears long gone

Boy in Baseball Cap Folk Art Pottery Head woman feeding birds door knocker--probably best for anI'm reluctant to part with this guy, who I take for a Brooklyn Dodger, though of course the B could also stand for Boston! (Photos don't really do justice, as the shine of the brown glaze makes softens its edges.) I really love how the sculpting of his face responds to the shadow that would be cast from the brim of his hat, with no definition to his eyes but the bridge of his nose and pursed mouth and strong chin given prominence. Just the right sort
