Very Last of the Old Birdlover's Watercolors: White-Wiged (sic) Scoter bird pin dated 1856Truly the very last few today from a great bunch of old naive watercolor of birds done by someone long ago who was quite serious about his birds! Each and every one of them a charmer I think, this one portraying a White Wiged (meant to say White Winged) Scoter, a sea duck. I really love the sort of crudeness of this one relative to some of the others, and of course the misspelled attribution, written first in graphite and then watercolored over in
