Deep and exquisitely layered in the glass, the 2013 base release marries the pedigree of this late ripening base year with reserve wines from 2012 and 2011, resulting in a stark, almost austere expression of Pinots from Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay that have been softened gently by eight years on the lees prior to disgorgement. This is a wonderful edition of one of the Egly flagships.
